Guided birding trips with photographer and writer Ashley Banwell

These birds were seen on 31st July and 1st August 2006 in the Tari Valley. They are very skulky and always kept in thick cover. I managed to get some recordings of their contact calls as I followed them through the forest. Over the two days I watched them for 30 mins. Some people tick them of having seen them in fruiting bushes, these are probably Berrypeckers as I find it hard to believe that they venture that high. Real sightings are very scarce.
