Guided birding trips with photographer and writer Ashley Banwell

Trumpeter Finch, Blakeney Point 1st June 2008 - Norfolk's first record.

An immature male Trumpeter Finch was found at around 2000 31-5-2008 by the warden on Blakeney Point. Thankfully it was relocated mid morning the next day by a few birders that were told, they soon put the news out at 0926. I arrived on site at 1100 only to hear that it had not been seen for 40 mins and had flown over a ridge. Only a few birders were trying to relocate it, most just waited in a group. I checked along Yankee ridge and at around 1200 it was found again much to my relief and it was seen well perched on top of a pile of pebbles before flying of a short distance.
